TSD is so excited to take cheerleading to the next level here in Thurston County. TSD rec competition cheer will help prepare cheerleaders to be more competitive as they move up in the cheer world! We are so excited to be offering not 1 but 2 age divisions for the upcoming 2024-2025 season! Team Rain, our Youth Rec Team (Ages 8-12) coached by Coach Kaylee & Coach Kendall and Team Hurricane, our Senior Rec Team (Ages 13-18) coached by Coach Rae & Coach Coral.
Rec Competitive Cheer will allow your athletes the opportunity to elevate their skills above what they can do on the sideline. Both age divisions will compete in the traditional category, which is a 2 minute and 30 second routine consisting of majority stunting (both individual and pyramid), as well as jumps, tumbling, dancing, and a team cheer. Practices will begin in early October 2024 and continue through the end of January 2025. Practices will be held in the Yelm HS Commons from 6pm-8pm. Please see calendar for exact dates
Our team is growing and we want you to join us! We are looking for both experienced and new athletes to join our TSD Cheer teams for the 2024-2025 Competition season.
We are a Brand New Youth Sports program located in the Puget Sound area. We offer camps, clinics, and Competitive Recreational Cheer Squads.
Traditional Rec Comp Cheer teams participate in competitions, performing a 2 1/2 minute routine composed of tumbling(non), stunting, pyramids, dance and cheer segments.
TSD Coaches have a history of running successful rec cheer squads. They are First Aid/CPR certified. WIAA stunt certified, USA Cheer certified, USASF certified, NFHS certified & NAYS certified members of WSCCA. Background check cleared.

Our mission is to emphasize and teach the importance of safety, discipline, stunting, hard work and dedication. Our goal is for you to become amazing athletes and performers. We also focus on 'Champion' conduct off the mat as well. Although our ultimate goal is to make each team competitive, we truly strive to teach our athletes lifelong lessons in leadership, teamwork, loyalty and helping others. At TSD athletes build confidence, create friendships, and learn the value of teamwork and determination as they work together to achieve their goals. We think you ll fall in love with this energetic, high-flying, competitive sport! Since TSD Cheer is a competitive team sport, a commitment is required from both the athlete and their family to ensure the athlete is able to attend team practices, performances, and competitions.
TSD Cheer teams will be formed through a team placement process, with the goal of creating the most competitive teams for the season. The placement process takes into account individual tumbling, stunting, jump, and dance skills, along with the maturity and work ethic of the athlete and the specific needs of the team. During evaluations, athletes will demonstrate their tumbling, jumps, dance, and stunting skills. Athletes will learn a short dance to assess their ability to learn choreography and perform with precise timing, sharp motions, and enthusiasm.
